Thanksgiving Day Surprise
Wow! Jesse has had an eventful day. On Thanksgiving Day, he’s been walking in the desert getting close to Yucca Valley, CA. He’s definitely experienced the kindness of strangers today. One lady who was driving by on the road stopped and gave him a glass of lemonade.
Later on, another woman was driving by and stopped and surprised Jesse with an entire Thanksgiving meal in a Styrofoam tray! Can you believe that? Thank you, Lord, for this kind soul! I wonder if she had seen Jesse earlier and came back to feed him? She just handed him the meal out the car window, told him Happy Thanksgiving and drove off. He couldn’t even get her name.
A few hours later on the trail, he met another hiker coming toward him. They started talking and the man’s name is Kent Treptow, and guess what, he’s also walking across America! But he’s on the last leg of his trip and is finishing up in California. He only has a few more days to walk. Kent mentioned Jesse on his own blog. Here’s a link in case you want to read it: Day 165. Here’s the picture Jesse took of Kent on the trail. Kent is using a jogger stroller to push his pack in, and we’re thinking seriously of getting one for Jesse because his pack is so heavy. We’ll keep you updated.
Here’s another picture of scenery on the trail.
Looks like he’s on an overpass in the desert.
Finally, I’ll leave you with a video message from Jesse. Happy Thanksgiving and step it up!
